The reception is 4-7pm September 15 at The Craft Studio Gallery in Columbia. Everyone can park in the visitors parking on University Avenue. Show

Commencement is right around the corner and I'm trying to sell some paintings to help offset shipping costs. It is quite nerve wrecking. In the meantime i am working on my more recent series on flaws.  This is an installation shot from my show at the context gallery just for grins:)

university gallery

I just got into a show and was asked to curate or have a solo show at the Craft Studio Gallery. My show will be up Sept 4- 17. It is during the campus crawl where the head of the gallery, Kelsi Hammond, said they had foot traffic of around 450 people! I am very excited for my small yet, widely viewed gallery! What a great to get ready for the Big Apple.
Mission
The Craft Studio’s mission is to create opportunities for MU students and community members to explore arts and crafts in a casual and recreational environment. Craft Studio classes are offered for a variety of skill levels ranging from the novice explorer to the seasoned craftsman. Our studio space is available for people of all abilities to explore art and engage in self-discovery. We maintain a gallery to showcase the work of local artisans as well as providing new artists with their first exhibition opportunities. The ultimate goal of the Craft Studio is to help people overcome their fears about art and discover their inner creativity.

New Upcoming Shows

I have just sent my current body of work to the Form and Context Gallery for an upcoming show along with some very talented artists. My mentor Steve Knudsen, and even other artists such as John Rise and Suzanne Jackson are in it! I am very flattered and excited that my work is moving and getting out there. Seeing them on a truck in a way is like loosing part of your soul, but i am extremely glad to share my work!
I am also about to curate a show in Columbia, Missouri with a few other figurative painters. I will keep everyone updated.

FORM and C O N T E X T Gallery was started by Laura Victore an artist and MFA graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. The gallery represents emerging and established artists, primarily those whose studio practice reflects a cutting-edge voice and clear statement about today’s human condition. Our primary emphasis is to introduce our clients to the contemporary art world and encourage them to start collecting art by feeling a connection to a particular visual art FORM through the awareness of the C O N T E X T from which the artist has created the work.

New York

I might be moving to New York after graduation! I think i'm getting ready to move away from home and start my endeavors in the arts. I am hoping to get exposed to artists, co-ops, numerous shows and the entire art scene minus the auction houses! My grandma agreed to put me up which gives me an advantage when i'm first starting up. I am nervous but ready for a change. If anyone has any advice let me know:)
